Advisors & Faculty Resources
We understand that study abroad advisors and faculty members play a key role in a student's study abroad experience. So, to help you better serve students at your institution, we’re providing you with a one stop shop for your most common needs.
We’ve found most study abroad offices need information on:
Accreditation (Details)
DEREE is the only institution in Athens accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) — easing the process of course credit transfer back to the student’s home institution.
Application Process (Details)
We’ve made applying to DEREE – The American College of Greece easy. Students simply complete our online application and submit the required application documents. We advise prospective students to talk to the study abroad officer at their home institution during this process.
Visa (Details)
One of the first steps students will complete in the process of studying abroad will be applying for a student visa. The Study Abroad Office guides students through the visa application process. Once a student has been accepted, they must submit to us the documents listed in the detailed Student Visa Application Instructions. When all documents have been received, the College will obtain approval for a visa on student’s behalf. Once approved, the Study Abroad Office will send the student the paperwork they will need to submit to a local Greek Consulate.
Please see Student Visa Applications Instructions for details on this visa process.
Housing (Details)
Study abroad students live in DEREE’s spacious residence complex a short walk from campus. Standard accommodations are based on two students sharing a bedroom in a furnished apartment. Meals are self-catered. A grocery store is conveniently located just down the block. Students can choose upgrades such as a single bedroom or a superior single bedroom. Contact the Office of Study Abroad for more details.
Course Selection (Details)
With 21 majors, 32 minors, and over 1,000 courses offered each year, DEREE provides students with plenty of courses to choose from in business, fine arts, humanities, social sciences, communication — and more! Please refer to our complete course listing and course descriptions to assist students with course selections.
Pre-registration (Details)
After students send us the deposit and visa documents, we’ll send them a Course Registration Form. In the meantime, students should work with an advisor at their home institution to ensure that the courses they wish to take at ACG are approved for transfer back to the home institution. Please refer to our complete course listing and course descriptions to assist students with course selections.
Payment (Details)
Our comprehensive study abroad fee covers up to 15 credit hours of tuition, housing, fees and three excursions within Greece. Orientation, faculty support, visa support, and full access to facilities are all included. For more detailed information on pricing, see our Pricing page.
Transcripts (Details)
We’ll provide students with an official transcript shortly after the conclusion of the semester at no extra cost.
