Dance Club

Members of the DEREE Dance Club enjoy the art of dance in all forms and in many ways. The club is a meeting point for getting “dance-lovers” together, exchanging ideas and knowledge and opening other students’ eyes to the wonder of this beautiful form of expression.

When do we meet?
The club meets at least four times a semester in a formal setting, to include introduction of new students, discuss potential upcoming events, as well as organize and advertise the club. In addition, members meet up to three times a week in the dance studios for rehearsals.

The club organises field trips to dance recitals and musical theatre performances, attends college events and charity activities (e.g. marathon, race against breast cancer) and makes choreographies, which are performed on campus and social events.

Past Performances
This past semester, the dance area performed at the October 13th Greek Music Concert - held for visiting Franklin College students - in which we choreographed and performed a compilation of contemporary dance on the front lawn for DEREE Spirit Day. And most recently, Sophia Theodoropoulou, our new dance teacher, held a special dance workshop in improvisational dance.
