Taking Exams Workshop: Preparation for Objective, Short Response and Essay Exams!

Don’t you wish that there was a way to do better in exams? This workshop is aiming to help you develop and apply techniques that can improve your performance on tests. Both objective and essay exams are covered, but emphasis is given to essay type questions in line with the OU guidelines.
You will be introduced to useful tips on getting ready for exams, understanding exam questions and organizing your responses effectively. You will have the chance to practice exam taking techniques through hands-on activities.
Students at all levels and from all majors will find this workshop useful.

Then come to this Learning Styles workshop to find out what your personal learning style is and what studying strategies work best for you! Are you a visual, aural or physical learner? Or do you use a mixture of learning styles? By recognizing and understanding your own learning style(s), you can use techniques better suited to you.

Note-taking is not writing down everything your professor says. It is a skill that can be mastered and a tool that will greatly enhance your performance in your courses.
In this workshop you will be shown how to listen effectively and select the points worth noting down. You will practice taking notes using various techniques such as employing symbols, abbreviations, and outlining to organize the information in your notebooks both during and after class. Don’t miss it!
