New Student Orientation Spring 2012 is designed to give new students the tools they need to be successful at DEREE. Participation is required of all new undergraduates. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, February 23!

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION PROGRAM – THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2012

10:00-10:30	New Student Check-in Location: Student Lounge, Main Corridor Arrive and check in with your Orientation Leaders!
10:30-10:45	Welcome to DEREE! Location: Student Lounge, Main Corridor Welcome, Dr David G. Horner, President Greeting, Chris Papadopoulos, DEREE Student Government Association President
10:45-11:15	Academics @ DEREE Location: Student Lounge, Main Corridor Find out important information regarding Academics at DEREE, including the dual degree ACG/OU, majors, credits, attendance and registration.
11:15-11:35	ACG Information Highway: ACGboard & E-mail Location: Student Lounge, Main Corridor Learn about ACGboard and your e-mail account
11:45-13:00	The Race is ON! Starting Location: Student Lounge, Main Corridor Orientation Leaders will facilitate as you and your teammates follow clues to places on campus most frequently accessed by students. Don’t forget to pay attention: whichever team answers the most questions at the end of the tour wins a prize!!! Smile! You’re on Camera! While exploring the campus, you will also be taking your ID photos, so don’t forget to put your best smile forward!
13:00-14:00	Lunch time! Location: Student Lounge, Main Corridor Enjoy a break and a light lunch with your Orientation Leaders, members of the Student Government, Student Senate and DEREE Ambassadors.
14:00-15:10	Student Life @ DEREE Location: Student Lounge, Main Corridor Find out what being a student at DEREE is all about! What do YOU want to know? Location: Student Lounge, Main Corridor, Student Lounge, Gym This is your opportunity to discuss daily life @ DEREE with your Orientation Leaders, who will be able to answer questions and offer information valuable to new students like you, just beginning your college career! Topics covered will be: using the Student Success Center, selecting courses/academic advising/registration, using Peer Tutoring, accessing and using ACGBoard and email, using counseling/learning services, using Career Services, using the Wellness Center and Health Services, using the Gym/Pool
15:15-15:45	STUDY ABROAD & INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS Study in Athens, a Whole New Experience! Location: Upper Level Library A session on services unique to Study Abroad and International Students
15:15	Last Call: DEREE IDs! Location: Student Lounge, Main Corridor Pick up your temporary IDs on your way out to ensure access to campus!
