New Merit Awards Offer Up to 50% Scholarship to Outstanding Students
DEREE – The American College of Greece announces a new scholarship program designed to reward Greek high school graduates who have earned high grades. The scholarships range from a 25 to 50 percent tuition reduction depending on the student's grade point average upon graduation. Scholarships are renewable for up to six years provided the student maintains a 3.0/4.0 grade point average at DEREE.
"We are very pleased to be offering this scholarship program to Greek students," explained John M. Baworowsky, vice president for enrollment and student services. "DEREE has a long tradition of attracting many of the best students from Greek public and private high schools. This scholarship program will make a DEREE education a very affordable option."
To receive the scholarship, students must have graduated from high school in the past year and have earned a score of 17 or higher in the Greek educational system. This is equivalent to an average of 3.4/4.0 or 85 percent or higher. Depending on the student’s specific grades, the scholarships are awarded in three tiers – 25 percent, 35 percent, and 50 percent.
