SUCCESSFUL CAREERS

Chris Papanikolaou
University of Saint Andrews, Scotland
MLitt in Corporate Social Responsibility

Chris Papanikolaou had visited Career Services on several occasions before actually asking for advice in December of 2008; he had decided to apply to graduate school in Fall 2010 and his goal was set to achieve a position in a top ranked university in the UK. Chris had everything he needed to get into one of the few Corporate Social Responsibility programs offered by UK university; he just wasn’t convinced of that himself.

Chris visited Career Services on a weekly basis, fine tuning his personal statement, preparing applications and most importantly getting the encouragement he really needed to believe that he could definitely achieve his goals. After submitting applications to five British universities in June 2009, all that was left was to wait for their responses. In September we got a phone call from Chris, asking us to read the e-mail message he had just forwarded us to confirm the response he had received. The title of the e-mail read “Offer”. He had been extended an offer from the University of Saint Andrews, the oldest university in Scotland, with international renown for both research and education of undergraduates and postgraduates to the MLitt program in Corporate Social Responsibility for the Fall of 2010!
